Hi I Have A Hard Vein From My Armpit To

Hi I have a hard vein from my armpit to the site of an IV a few weeks back. I believe it to be superficial thromboplebitis based on my Google. If that is the case is it safe to do weights? I'm worried about a potential clot breaking off so close to my heart. It seems to be centred at my armpit as that's where earlier bruising was most significant.
