Hi. I Have A Large Wooden Splinter Under My Fingernail,

Hi. I have a large wooden splinter under my fingernail, from the tip, almost to the "moon". Should I go see a Dr. to try to remove it, or shall I just wait for it to fester? This happened yesterday at work. I can continue my duties, but am concerned that it could become infected.
