Hi, I Have A Medical Question For My Grandfather Who

Hi, I have a medical question for my grandfather who is running out of time to be alive. He has a calcium deposit on his heart valve, and was going to get this valve replaced with a pig valve but because he cannot stay infection free due to the constant rounds of antibiotics he is on, he was informed that the valve operation is no longer an option. He has had to take so many antibiotics because he has a urinary catheter due to a bladder that no longer contracts and regular bouts of pneumonia and bronchitis due to 25 years of smoking that was quit 38 years ago. To complicate matters my grandfather is now resistant to every antibiotic except one which he has to have constant IV infusion for. I have been told that once the bacteria in his body is resistant to the one antibiotic that is still effective that is it and its all down hill from that point. My question is do you that herbal antibiotics can be effective here since he is running out of options? I have read a very well researched book by Stephen Harold Buhner, herbal antibiotics and also herbal antivirals. In these books he mentions that the herbs Cryptolepsis, alchornea, or Sida will almost always work for system infections, that Juniper berry combined with bidens will almost always work for UTIs and that a combination of Chinese skullcap, isatis, licorice, houttuynia, lomatium, red root, yerba santa, elephant tree, osha and either inmortal or pleurisy root will knock out advanced pneumonia because of the potent antivirals. Obviously, he favors herbs and believes whole heartedly in them. As a medical doctor, how would you view this situation if presented with the suggestion of herbal interventions if your were my grandfathers doctor considering his present condition? I want to know maybe what kind of reception I will receive when I present herbs as a way to stay infection in order to allow my grandfather to have his heart valve surgery. I also know that some patients have been referred to agencies that counsel patients on integrating herbs with their current plan of care and drugs that are prescribed by the patient’s doctor. Any guidance would be helpful since I am not a medical expert nor an expert in herbs either. Thank you.
