Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have a mild (grade 1) anterolisthesis of L4 on L5. My xray report says I have no vertebral body height loss and no dynamic instability. The orthopedic doctor I saw a year or so ago told me he thought he might see my for surgery in 20 years, so that's good.
But for a couple of years now, I've had a persistent soreness in my lower back. I never throw my back out, as I've heard others talk about their back conditions. It tends to be mostly on the left side and it feels more like an ache or a cramp. It tends to worsen when I play ultimate frisbee or basketball and be helped somewhat by cycling. Weight lifting can help it sometimes.
The doctor wasn't even sure if the pain was due to the slippage of the L4. What I'm wondering is, are there any exercises I can do consistently that might improve the pain in my back?
