Hi! I Have A Nodule-like Small Lump In The Middle

Hi! I have a nodule-like small lump in the middle of my throat that can be felt from the front of my neck. Along with this is a gagging sensation and hoarseness of voice. It is not my thyroid as I've had that checked. Could it simply be related to my vocal cords? I am a teacher and overuse my voice on a regular basis. Thanks!
