Hi, I Have A Question Regarding My Mother's Recent Back

Hi, I have a question regarding my mother's recent back surgery. My mother had far lateral disc herniation recently, so the doctors told her that she needs to do an immidiate surgery since it was pinching her sciatic nerves. after the surgery we found out that the doctor have removed some part of the disc and has replaced it with bone grafts but hasn't used any metals or rods. he calls it insite fusion, but I can't find such a surgery online when I search since all of the spinal surgeries include metal rods. I'd like to know some opinions about this surgery
