Hi I Have A Sharp Pain Under My Ear. My

Hi I have a sharp pain under my ear. My dentist did last week put on a cap over a tooth . That area is still a little sore. I was told that he found on the opposite side of my mouth an abscess and I need a root canal. Is it possible being on the opposite side that it would cause a pain below my ear .
