Hi I Have Been Advised By My Ob To Take

I have been advised by my ob to take althea pills for 3 cycle. I finished my first pack already but until now i am still bleeding. I think this is not menstruation anymore. From my observation this is just a discharge but why is it still dark brown in color. And i am experiencing cramps from the day i start that pill until i finished it. Can i switch to diane 35 on my next cycle because i think i am not ok with althea. Thanks
