Hi, I Have Been Diagnosed With De Quervain's Tenosynovitis And

Hi, I have been diagnosed with De Quervain's Tenosynovitis and have been wearing a thumb spica splint now for 3 weeks....I crochet and have had pain in my left thumb/wrist area for over a year.....I would just crochet through the pain.....
my question is how long should I wear the splint? and, when should I notify my doctor if I'm experiencing more pain?
