Hi I Have Been Disgnosed With Viral Tracheitis All Boxes

Hi I have been disgnosed with viral tracheitis all boxes are ticked! I've been prscribed with Clarithromycim tablets which havev slightly taken thev edge off but inhaling olbus oil and gargling with salt 3 times per day is also helping.Most treatments won't get rid of this I know as I've had it before but it does eventually go. I'm a non-smoker but moderate drinker (about 15 units pw) who regularly walks and exzcercises. Can you suggest any lifestyle or dietary changes. I'm aged 60 weigh aroung 11 stone anf 5ft 6" so not in bad nick.
Am seriously thinking of cutting out alcohol altogether.
