Hi I Have Been Getting Pain In My Right Ear

I have been getting pain in my right ear for over a year now. I phoned the doctors when it 1st started to be told it was a viral ear infection and not to worry about it however a year on and it's getting worse, I hear buzzing noises, can feel dizzy at times and get sharp pains when I have hickups.
Any advice would be much appreciated
