Hi, I Have Been Have Problems With My Throat For

Hi, I have been have problems with my throat for about almost a week . It hurts when I eat or drink, swallowing. Throughout the day I see myself producing more Salvia. When i put pressure on the right side of my throat I can feel the pain a little. It has gotten better but by the night when i go to sleep it feels worst. I have never had this problem before. Never had a sore throat last this long. Im not sneezing or coughing a lot mainly just the throat soreness. Could it maybe be a virus that's just taking a long time to leave? Thank you !
