Hi, I Have Been Having A Pain On My Left

Hi, I have been having a pain on my left leg, feels like it's in the joint where the hip joins the leg bone and only hurts when I open my leg sideways, like to get out of the car for example, the pain sometimes goes down my leg to my knee and it's starting to feel numb or like it's falling asleep, what can this be? I had started exercising and that's the only thing I can think of caused it but it's been a couple of months now and the pain is still there. I'm female, 46 years old. Thank you.
