Hi , I Have Been Having This Problem Since I

Hi , I have been having this problem since I was 8 or 9 I pull my hair and eat the roots I am now 17 and I still do it up until this day could I die from hair ball any time soon? What if I chew them until its very mushey ? Could I still get hair ball and I have some stomach pain sometimes but not all of the time it comes and go but when I was younger it was really bad Doctor said it was from me pulling my belly button. So I'm not sure if it's the hair. Ball or it's the hair. Ball if I have any
