Hi I Have Been Having This Sharp Stabbing Pain For

Hi I have been having this sharp stabbing pain for a while on my left side off my head. I went to my doctor and he said I needed to go on steroids as my blood test registered high level of inflammation. I was going to get referred but then suddenly he phoned and said the hospital said not to worry as I'm under 50 and to come of the steroids. But now I feel the pain is getting worse. Do you think I need a second opinion?
