Hi,
I have been in and out of doctors offices and hospitals for the past 4 months for back and rib pain. I ended up getting 8 cortisone shots along my spine (which did next to nothing) and had 5 intercostal nerve block injections earlier this week. My xray showed that I either have an extra rib (floating rib) that formed in the wrong shape. So instead of a nice downward curve, it has a sharp upwards triangular look. I am having shortness of breath, pain in my chest, arm weakness, leg weakness, I drop things easily. I have ALL normal blood tests but I'm wondering if I need an MRI to find out of the floating rib is stabbing into my lung. Is this even possible? Could it be causing all of this pain?
