Hi, I Have Been On 50mg Of Levothyroxine Since September

Hi, I have been on 50mg of Levothyroxine since September 15 for very low thyroid function, finished taking on December 11th. My doctor is querying whether it started because of a virus so has asked me to stop taking and have a blood test in 4 - 6 weeks. Is it OK to stop taking it suddenly. I have had really strange burning sensation in lower left abdomen all day. Thought I had lent on the oven and burned myself this morning. Was intermitant all day. Is this a side effect of coming off Levothyroxine? Thank you Emma
