Hi, I Have Been On The Medroxypr Birth Control Shot

Hi, I have been on the medroxypr birth control shot for almost a year. A couple monthes ago I got a brown discharge, no pain, no foul odor, nothing like that, and since then its come back monthly for about a week maybe plus a day or two. Is it a side effect of the shot? Or should I be concern??
