Hi I have been suffering with arthritis in my body since the age of 30, firstly in my neck following a severe whiplash but as I have a curvature of the spine it was quickly identified that I had osteoarthritis in 2 of my discs and these have been deteriorating ever since. I cannot have surgery for disc replacement as I have crohns disease and numerous other conditions. I take so many medications per day that I rattle almost. However, I basically take oxycodone hydrochloride (2 per day, Naproxen 2 per day and up to 8 paracetamol as well). I have Pentasa granules for my crohns and also take Omeprazole (2 per day), ceterizine 1 per day, mebeverine or colofac 3 tablets per day, also just started on Amlodipine 5mg per day due to high blood pressure readins and also Amitriptyline (3 at night), Pizotifen at night to try and prevent migraines and when I get them Naratriptan. I am also asthmatic as well and take Ventolin morning and night as well as Seretide morning and night to try and keep my asthma under control. (more in the winter or when I I get a chest infection). However, I am currently under investigation for Vasculitis at the moment and may be having a nose biopsy and head mri and chest CT in the coming month's. I am overweight but following a total knee replacement op in August 2013 I had a bad infection in it and walk as my back goes into spasm at least 3/4 times per week and recently also partially tore my hamstring on the operated leg. The other knee has a lot of arthritis that means it will need operating on some time in the near future but understandably I am trying to hold off as long as I can.for that operation. I have so much pain in my hands every day and do have deformed fingers and some nodules on a few fingers nearer to the fingertips but I am finding each day harder to cope with and my hands stop me doing so much along with my chronic bag and knee pain as well. I have heard that wax parrafin heaters can be helpful for the pain and not sure if this is right? Also my GP asked me recently if I am taking any calcium tablets, which I am not, do you think I should be?
