Hi. I Have Been Taking 2.5 Ramipril For 6 Months

Hi. I have been taking 2.5 Ramipril for 6 months with no noticeable side effects. 3 weeks ago I was suddenly grade 2 hypertension at 202. I was prescribed 2 x Amlodipine 5mg plus the original 2.5mg Ramipril. I felt like I wanted to die (although bp down to 126ish). 3 days ago I was switched to just 5mg Amlodipine and 5mg Ramipril.
BP creeping up to 145/102 and av pulse 100-118. Have chronic diarrhea, hives and totally unable to sleep. Could I therefore just switch to 10mg Ramipril, as long as I continue to monitor my BP 3 times a day, or has the Amlodipine have something in it that I actually need?
