Hi, I Have Been Taking Birth Control Pills For About

Hi, I have been taking birth control pills for about 3 years now and have always had regular periods. Just two weeks ago, I missed a pill and began what seemed like a normal period which lasted a little under two days. I'm assuming it stopped when I continued taking my everyday pills. I am now on the last sugar pill and have not begun my regular cycle yet. Is it possible that my cycle is messed up because of the missed pill and spotting?
