Hi, I Have Been Trying To Concieve For Last Three

Hi, I have been trying to concieve for last three months. From last month i m having extremely light perod which is very abnormal for me . I waited for this month, the period showed up after 2 days of due date, again i see only spotting. Like last month the blood is brownish .
Wondering, what I would do. Would pregnancy test at home will work?
