Hi I Have Braces And I Floss Regularly But When

Hi I have braces and I floss regularly but when I go and get them tightened I don't floss until the pain from then being tightened goes away. however, I recently flossed and of course there was bleeding but my incisive papilla has been swollen for a couple days now and it hurts a lot. Is that normal? Or is there anything I can do? This is the first time this has happened.
