Hi, I Have Donated Whole Blood And Platelets For UBS

Hi,

I have donated whole blood and platelets for UBS and I have never had many issues donating blood in the past (over 2+ yrs- every 6 wks freq.). Recently last week, I tried donating plasma at BPL and my blood pressure went down to 91/50, then back up to 109/76 when they stopped the machine (the line clotted some at this point), but tried again and I went down again to 92/47 at which point they just stopped everything, then they got me up to 118/69 before I left with ice packs & elevating my feet. I didn't expect to have this type of reaction at all to donating plasma....?

Is there anything I should know before I try to donate blood again? Also is there something I can do to make sure my blood pressure stays elevated?

I lost a friend in the past so I prefer to keep donating as I can. I have A- blood and I am overweight but usually have good iron levels and good blood pressure.
