Hi, I have had a cough for nearly 14 weeks now, i have seen a doctor 5 times throughout that time. It started as a normal cold/cough. as I am a diabetic and i was taking Ramapril. I went to the A & E a saw a specialist who told me to stop taking Ramapril. Drink loads of Lemon and water. One night at 3am I coughed so much my epiglottis closed my throat and for 40 second I could not breath. Frightening me out of my skin. I have been given asthma pumps. Steroids and even anti depressants, which I did not take. Now need to take one nurofen express tablet every 2.30 hours to stop my throat tickling and making me cough. In fact i cough so much that i pass out. Only for a few seconds. I have checked the internet and I feel that I may have a kind of whopping cough. and really all I need to know how lonng can I expect to have this cough problem. and is there anything I can do. because I have tried everything. cheers steve
