Hi I Have Had Moderate Anxiety For About 5 Years

Hi I have had moderate anxiety for about 5 years now. Have been taking Xanax for it, (intermittently) and suffer through it rest of the time. However have taken it regularly for the past 6 months, low dose of .25 mg. My Psychiatrist suggests Clonotril 0.5 mg when I asked him for a similar medication. Can you please let me know what are the pros/cons to taking Clonotril over Xanax. Ideally, I would like to stop all meds in the future. Thank you
