Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have my left leg that is amputated since I was 19 years old, I'm 81 now. I live in WI. and there are times I get phantom pains so bad, it's all in my stump. The pain lasts for days sometimes and this is what has happened this week. Is there anything that can be done for this? It's very painful to live with this. I've tried everything I know, like taking my prosthesis off for awhile but that doesn't help. This goes on for about 3 or 4 days and especially when we have hot humid weather. I've asked the doctors and they tell me it won't last long but that isn't true. Any help you can suggest would be appreciated.
