Hi, I Have Swollen Tonsils, And For The Last Week

Hi, I have swollen tonsils, and for the last week or so I can barely swallow my medicines, they keep getting stuck in the back of my throat. When I try and eat, my food gets stuck in the back of my throat. When I lay down to sleep, it's hard to breath, like my airway is almost completely closed. I don't have a sore throat, but it is very dry. I'm not running a fever and I don't have a cough. Any ideas what it might be?
