I just finished cisplatin chemo and radiation for 7 weeks. While I understood hearing loss was a possibility, I didn't expect it to happen 3 weeks out of chemo/radiation. My primary tumor was in my right tonsil, squamous cell carcinoma and 2 lymph nodes on my right neck. Audiologists are telling me there is possible permanent inner ear nerve damage. I'm just wondering...could the clogged bilateral ears and loss of high frequency sounds (with a clear MRI) have a different cause?
