Hi I Just Want To Ask About My Shins So

Hi I just want to ask about my shins
So when I play soccer I wear shin guard and after I take them off my shins are all red itchy sore and for years i blamed it on the shin guards but I think it's not and that the shin guards may make it worse I went to a doctor years ago over it and they said it's nothing and gave me a cream that doesn't work but now I haven't used shin guards in a while so my shins at the moment are just kinda dry skinned what can I do to prevent them from being itchy and red all the time
