Hi ~ I Just Went For An Std Screening That

Hi ~ I just went for an std screening that me and my girlfriend agreed that we both be tested since we are both over 40 years old and have been with multiple partners ~ everything came back great except HSV2..... I have a couple of questions.
#1 Can you have HSV2 and never have signs of an outbreak or legion? The reason I ask is because I can't say that I ever have.
#2 Is it possible to have a false positive and maybe I should be retested ??
