Hi, I Lifted A Lid From A Large Hot Pan

Hi, I lifted a lid from a large hot pan of food boiling on the stove and the hot steam directly went into my eyes as it was like a uplifting shot of hot steam took me by surprise. I splashed cold water into my eyes, but they are still very much hurting... any suggestions for further remedies other than cold water ?
