Hi I Recently Got Stitches On The Outside And And

Hi I recently got stitches on the outside and and inside of my bottom lip due to my two front teeth getting chipped off from hitting the rod of a loose fence. I have a big gray bump where the stitches are and its giving me some pain. Is this natural and will heal by itself or is it a serious issue like an infection? Thank you
