Hi. I Skipped My Period On The Ava 30 E.D

Hi. I skipped my period on the Ava 30 E.D last month. I then experienced some breakthrough bleeding for a couple of weeks. I have just had a normal period but it only lasted about 3 days instead of the usual 5. I still have 3 days worth of the sugar pill to take before I restart the hormonal pill. Am I still protected from Pregancy if I have sex during this time?
