Hi, I Started Experiencing Gum Tenderness And Pain In One

Hi, I started experiencing gum tenderness and pain in one area of my mouth (roof right side). The pain has since healed (still slightly sensitive but definitely a lot better than when I first felt it about a week ago), but I notice a small indented red patch there now. What could this be?
