Hi. I Switched Birth Control Pills A Few Months Ago

Hi. I switched birth control pills a few months ago and in the second month I had heavy bleeding during intercourse. My doctor at the time recommended I stay on the pill as it might be my body adjusting to the new formulation of hormones. I've had breakthrough bleeding (some days heavy, others very minimal) since then and have again experienced medium to heavy bleeding during intercourse. I went to the doctor today (saw a new Dr.) and she suggested I get a PAP, so I received a pap and for the first time, bled during and after. She said that my cervix looked friable as well. I am scheduled to get blood work done (following up on past work that indicated my T4 is low as well as my TSH) and an intravaginal ultrasound. Should I be concerned about anything more serious?
