Hi, I Was Bit Very Hard On The Hand By

Hi, I was bit very hard on the hand by a neighborhood cat this morning. I was wearing garden gloves and didn't realize that he had punctured my skin until I took them off. It hurt. I washed it and put on antiobiotic ointment. I have called the neighbors to make sure that the cat has up-to-date rabies shots. They didn't answer the phone. I'm pretty sure he has, since they are good pet owners. This took place around six hours ago. I just checked the wound and it has not scabbed over, there is some bruising and swelling at the site. It hurts to pick up anything with that hand. What's your advice?
