Hi I Was Born With A Cleft Lip And Cleft

Hi I was born with a cleft lip and cleft palet and have a very long scar down back of throat which is visible. I've been coughing (with now cleared cold) since just after Christmas and it's hurting my throat to the point swallowing is painful.
I'm coughing to the point of nearly puking and this morning I coughed up a small amount of blood.
What could be the cause? Have a ripped the weak scar tissue in back of throat?
