Hi, I Was Diagnosed With An Epididymal Cyst About 2

Hi, I was diagnosed with an epididymal cyst about 2 weeks ago. The doctor said it is a 2cm cyst. The reason why I went to doctor is because I began to have some discomfort on my testicles and my groins. After an ultrasound I was diagnosed. The doctor pretty much told me that I should wear tighter underwear, prescribed me naproxen 500mg and to avoid surgery. The discomfort still there of course. I am a very active person... Gym, sports, sex and I pretty much stoped all of that for now while I figure this out because I am afraid it could make it worst. Is this accurate?
At what point should I start considering surgey? How safe is this procedure?
