Hi, I Was In Hospital Yesterday With 1 Weeks Worth

Hi, I was in hospital yesterday with 1 weeks worth of abdominal bloating and pain and was diagnosed with a probably diverticulitis. I was put on Augmentin Duo Forte and Metronidazole, I have had 3 doses and have diarrhea now. Is this a common cause and not to be too concerned? My GGT was also elevated somewhat and I already have fatty liver disease would the Metronidazole do any more harm to my liver?
