Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I was on a medical examination for work and got note from doctor that I have too high CDT in my blood, but not how high. I was on examination 4 days after summer holidays with friends and we were really drinking too much for the last 14 days... I did follow the instructions I've got, and I was not drinking for 14 days and then gave blood again. I got the same result again - that I was heavily drinking for the last 14 days and I should follow the absolute abstinence again and give blood after 14 days again... How is this possible? I am also in worries as after the medical examination I drank 5 beers (it was a friend birthday and I thought I am off now) and now I need to give blood in 14 days again. How will this 5 beers influence on level of CDT? Not sure if relevant I was also thinking if my diet can have any influence on that? I am practically not eating any carbohydrates (LHFC diet), maybe one small piece of breed in one week, can this have anything to do with CDT level?
