Hi. I Was Recently Diagnosed With A Low Functioning Thyroid.

Hi. I was recently diagnosed with a low functioning thyroid. Besides taking the prescription is there anything else that can be done to help increase the thyroid production such as diet, exercise, decreased over the counter meds that I have been taking for sinus/allergy relief or other non-drug therapy? Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
