Hi, I Was Told Last Week I Need To See

Hi, I was told last week I need to see a Maxillo Facial Surgeon by my dentist. I need surgery and will have to loose some teeth to get to the jaw bone. I have a Lesion on my left lower jaw. Today I noticed my lip on the same side is dropping and I have a skin fold on the same side right from my lip downwards. Is this related?
I am aware that when the lesion is removed it will be sent to Pathology so I know it may be benign or it is cancer. I was assured if it is cancer we caught it early. I am just a bit overwhelmed and now my face looks different. Thanks for your response in advance.
