Hi I Was Washing Dishes With A Brillo Pad. I

Hi I was washing dishes with a Brillo pad. I have no visible signs of it but I'm wondering if a piece of the steel wool could've entered my hand?! Is this dangerous if it did? The palm of my hand under my thumb is a little swollen but there is no blood or signs that a piece of steel wool entered my hand but I'm still concerned. I'm always on my cell phone so could this be carpal tunnel? I'm very worried that there may be a piece of steel wool and my hand and I'm scared I'm going to become very ill with tetanus or something.
