Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I went and had a pelvic ultra sound because a cat scan showed I had an enlarged uterus. I got the results online and this is what it says...FINDINGS: Transabdominal and endovaginal image of the pelvis demonstrates the uterus measuring 7.7 x 4.5 x 6.0 cm. The endometrial stripe is thickened at 15 mm. Multiple lobular areas along the uterus consistent with fibroids. This includes a subserosal slightly exophytic anterior lesion measuring 14 x 14 x 12 mm. Largest is seen along the body of the uterus towards left side measuring 19 x 11 x 7 mm. The right ovary measures 2.4 x 2.3 x 1.2 cm and left 3.5 x 2.5 x 3.3 cm. Associated with the left ovary is a complex cystic area measuring 2.9 x 2.1 x 2.5 cm. Trace amount of free fluid.
IMPRESSION:
1. Multiple uterine fibroids.
2. Somewhat thickened endometrium measuring 15 mm.
3. Complex left ovarian cystic lesion measuring up to 2.9 cm with small amount of free fluid.
4. Recommend short followup in six weeks to confirm resolution
The I received a letter from my doctors office saying I had small fibroids nothing else needed to do. Am I missing something?
