Hi, I Went To The Dentist About 12 Hours Ago,

Hi, I went to the dentist about 12 hours ago, got a numbing injection for a fill in but when she gave me an injection I felt a sense surge through my tongue and numb it. I cannot taste anything on the left side of my tongue and when I drink anything it tastes disgusting and makes me want to gag. Did I lose my taste because of the anesthetic?
