Hi I'm 57 And Recently Got In A Rear End

Hi I'm 57 and recently got in a rear end collision.
I had a rear end collision back in the mid 90s. I was looking sideways at my passenger upon impact of in excess of 100 miles per hour. I had severe neck pain for weeks from that.
My neck cracks a lot and sometimes gives me headaches.
I can feel what seems to be loose bone shards in there.
Anyway, I got in in rear ender recently and when I went to the hospital to get xrays the tech asked me if I ever had my neck fused. The answer is NO. now I must ask.... has the recent accident injured my neck in such a fashion?
