Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I'm a 20 year old female I had knee arthroscopy 7 weeks ago on my left knee, I believe surgeon removed a bit of torn cartilage. I was told when I was 15 I have something called bilateral lateral discoid meniscus in both knees. I have had the same procedure carried out four times now. Yesterday morning I noticed my left knee was very swollen and a lump/bulge on the outside of my knee close to where I had the pain before the op. It's painful to straighten it fully and bend it fully, it feels very stiff. I haven't had an accident or done anything where I felt I had caused injury to the knee. I saw my surgeon on Thursday when everything was fine so I have now been signed off. Should I go back or will it just go away with rest?
