Hi I'm Experiencing Thickness Of Skin Between My Thumb N

Hi I'm experiencing thickness of skin between my thumb n pointer finger. I don't know if it's a corn or callus. But on both hands for yearsale now. When I try to peel off the extra skin it gets so painful to the point I can't even full spread those fingers. Can you give me some advice please
