Hi I'm On A New Birth Control I Just Switched

Hi I'm on a new birth control I just switched last month and this BC has 7 sugar pills my other one had 4. I started my period on the first day of sugar pills so I only took 5 and started my new pack. Is that okay? I take them the same time every night, 9pm. Never have missed a pill.
